Lawn and Garden

The Finney County, K-State Research and Extension office is your front door to the resources of Kansas State University. Through our office you can obtain information on trees, turf, shrubs, insects, gardens, and other related topics. We also provide services such as insect identification, plant identification, and soil tests with fertilizer recommendations.

Watering Your Lawn

Do you want a better looking green lawn this year? Want to learn more about how to get it? Then, I invite you to come to this free program to learn more from KSU Professor and Specialist in Landscape Management, Dr. Cathie Lavis. She will go over the basics of best times to water your lawn, with what, and much more. Thanks to our sponsor, Wards Garden Center we will be having snacks! Irrigation & Your Business

This program is taught by Dr. Cathie Lavis, KSU Professor and Extension Specialist: Landscape Management. She will be discussing irrigation techniques such as irrigation systems, water use efficiency, improving lawn quality and more. Identifying Common Garden Insects

Dr. Sarah Zukoff, Kansas State University Entomology Extension Specialist will be discussing common insects found in your garden and how to identify them.
